Access Introduction Material in Commentaries

May 20, 2011 at 12:28 PM

From the May Logos Training Newsletter (Sign up here)

Before most commentators jump into their verse by verse explanation, they begin with background material for a book in the Bible. Such introductory material includes: author, recipients, date of writing, etc.  Sometimes locating that information in Logos can be May-IntoMaterial.pngchallenging.

For example, if you open the Bible Knowledge Commentary (BKC), type Ephesians in its reference box, and then press the Enter key you’ll jump to a discussion of Ephesians 1:1-2, totally bypassing the background content.

Here’s a suggestion

  • Open the BKC (1)
  • Choose the BKC’s panel menu (2)
  • Select Show table of contents (3)
  • Navigate to Ephesians / Introduction
  • Click Introduction to jump right to the background material

Using the Table of Contents is perhaps the easiest way to currently open a commentary to this helpful introductory information.
