Tip of the Month: Saving Words of Christ in Red

Recently I received an e-mail from a Logos user asking how to find all of the words of Christ in red, and then save the results for future use. This can be accomplished by combining a field search with a wildcard search . If this is a need you have, heres how to do it:

Choose Search | Bible Search

Type this in the Search box: WOC:*

Select a Bible

Select the New Testament as a Range

Click Search (This search will take a few moments.)

On the Search Results window under Other Tools click Export Results to a Verse List

Click Properties on the Verse List and name the list

You can now open this Verse List at File | Open | Verse Lists

Book of the Month: Exhaustive Dictionary of Bible Names

In most Logos Bible Software base collections is a book entitled Exhaustive Dictionary of Bible Names. This resource gives a brief definition of every name in the Bible. Heres a handy little way to use this book:

Choose Tools | Options | KeyLink

Select English as the Data Type

Select KeyLinking on the left of the dialog window

From the Default Order of resources select Exhaustive Dictionary of Bible Names

Click Promote

Using the Up and Down buttons make sure this book is in the top nine of the Resource to Use First box on the top

Click Close

Right click on a Bible name anywhere in the Bible or other resource

From the right menu select Selected text | the specific Bible name you clicked on | Exhaustive Dictionary of Bible Names

The dictionary opens right to a brief definition of your word!
