Tip of the Month: English KeyLink from a Greek Bible

A Logos user recently e-mailed this question: Is it possible to execute a KeyLink on an English word while I am in a Greek text?

Yes, if you utilize the ESV Reverse Interlinear. One of the reasons this resource is so valuable is that you can work with the English text or a Hebrew or Greek word from the same resource! For example:

Open the ESV Reverse Interlinear to a passage like Ephesians 3.17

Right click on a word like dwell

From the right menu, choose Selected Text | your English word

Select Execute KeyLink (or KeyLink Summary or Bible Word Study) to access the KeyLinked resources for English

Using the concordance in my old QuickVerse product, I used to be able to follow the roots of compound words. Any way to do that in Libronix?

A book that you probably already own, the Enhanced Strongs Lexicon (ESL), provides this very information. This resource works a KeyLink for Hebrew or Greek as well as Hebrew or Greek Strongs Number. To familiarize yourself with the compound word information:

Open the ESL

Click the Active Index icon on its toolbar and select Greek Strongs Number

Type this in the Current Reference box: G5297

Press the Enter key to jump to that location

Notice in the article this compound word comes From 5259 and 5342. Just click these numbers to locate the components of this compound word.

Mac Tip of the Month: Seeing Multiple KeyLinked Resources

A Logos for Mac user submitted the following question at our website on the Newsletter page:

I recently added Logos for the Mac and I'm a lover of 'KeyLink.' I cannot seem to move between resources when I am using KeyLink. If I double click a word in an English bible my first reference comes up...but I cannot access the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th reference. Help?

If youre a Logos for Mac user, you know that additional features are continually being added. To currently access all of your KeyLinked resources, utilize the Bible Word Study report on the right menu. For example:

Open an English Bible to a desired passage like Acts 18.1
Right click on a word like Paul
Select Bible Word Study

In the report, notice the KeyLinks section, which is a list of your KeyLinked resources for English!
