Tip of the Month: New Features in Logos 4.0b Now Available

Just in case you have updated your Logos Bible Software, version 4.0b just released a short while ago. Here are some of the important changes:

You can now:

Import notes, highlights, favorites and prayer lists from Libronix DLS 3 into Logos 4 (Type import all in the Command box and press the Enter key and Logos will do the rest)

Create Prayer Lists from the File menu

Make your own Highlighting Palettes and Styles

Create a Bibliography from a Collection and Clippings file (Click the panel menu on the Collections or Clippings panel and select Export to bibliography)

Adjust the Settings on the Information panel

Add the Commentaries section to the Passage Guide or your own Bible Study template as many times as you like

Catch up on Reading Plans in which you're behind (Open a plan, right click on a day and select your Catch up option)

Close all windows, tiles, and panels with the keystroke Ctrl + Shift + W

Open or close the Customize menu on the Home Page with the keystroke Alt + C

Tip of the Month: List the Ways a Lemma is Translated

I recently received an e-mail with this question:

When I'm using a Bible with a reverse interlinear I want to quickly search for a Hebrew or Greek lemma [dictionary form of a word] and then see a summary of how and how many times that original word is translated in English without doing an in depth Bible Word Study report. Is this possible?

Thankfully yes it is and here's how:

Right click on a word in an English Bible containing the reverse interlinear option (ESV, NASB, NKJV, KJV, NRSV, NLT)

Select Lemma "your word"

Select Search this resource

Select Analysis on the Search panel that open containing the results

Drag the column header Result to the top area above the column header names

The search results are now organized and displayed according to the lemmas' English translation and the number of occurrences of each. Pretty cool!! If you want to get cooler, also drag the header Book to the top. Now you'll see the number of occurrences in the books of the Bible. If any of the headers are not showing on your screen, just right click on any header and display the ones you want.
