Tip of the Month: Create Citations from My Library

School is in full swing which means papers are being written each week. If you're like I am, you enjoy research and writing, but not creating bibliographies. The good news is that Libronix not only can help you with research, but also with that tedious bibliography at the end of the paper. Here is one of the many Libronix helps:

Choose Tools | Options | General

Click General

Select your desired Citation Style from the drop down list

Now when you copy / paste text from a Libronix resource to a word processor such as Microsoft Word, your text will be footnoted according to that style. Also, that style will be used for your citation to include in the bibliography.

Press Ctrl + L to open My Library

In the Find box type the title of a resource you used in your paper

Right click on the title of the resource in the display area

Select Copy Citation to Clipboard

Now return to your bibliography in your word processor and execute a paste (Ctrl + V)

Repeat these steps for each resource you used in the paper

My favorite devotional and spiritual writer is A.W. Tozer. Apart from the Bible, his writings have influenced me more than any other book. I am thrilled that Logos recently released the A.W. Press Ctrl+R to open the Reference Browser

Set the In box to the Tozer Search Collection

Set the Type box to Bible

Type a Bible reference in the Find box like John 3.16

Click Search

Click one of the results to open a book

Free Sermon File Addin

As we posted in our blog last week, Logos is offering a FREE download of the Sermon File Addin (SFA) for the rest of October due to Pastor's Appreciation Month. For more information about this, go to the October 21st entry on the Logos blog . Remember, the SFA allows you to convert text to the Libronix format, filing it safely away in two SFA compiled books. You can then retrieve your information by Topic, Reference, or by the Date that you used the material.

After you obtain the SFA, be sure to check out our Sermons of Rob Morgan Volumes 1-4 that load right into the addin.
