Inductive Bible Study Seminar
| The first LOGOS 4 Inductive Bible Study Seminar will be: April 22-23 St. Louis, MO |
What is Inductive Bible Study with Libronix?
This seminar is similar to our popular Camp Logos. You will learn to use features of the new Logos Bible Software 4 and how to apply them practically to your Bible study.
For each Bible study principle, numerous Logos features are explained and applied, enabling you to maximize your Bible software for personal study. By the end of the seminar you will have BOTH a disciplined plan of Bible study and a thorough knowledge of your Bible software.
How does this seminar differ from Camp Logos?
Camp Logos is software centered. This seminar is Bible study centered. In other words, in Camp Logos the software is taught topic by topic. In the new seminar, you will learn a Bible study process based on sound hermeneutical principles. Then for each principle you will actually study a Bible passage and learn which Logos features to use to accomplish each principle.
It is the best of both worlds. Learn to study the Bible inductively and how to use Logos 4 at the same time.
Outline of the seminar:
Here is a brief outline of the Bible study principles explained in the two-day seminar:
1. FLY OVER: READING THE TEXT
2. DIVE IN: KNEADING THE TEXT
- Discern the Literary Context
- Discover the Historical Context
- Analyze Thought Structure
- Look-up Word Meanings
- Investigate Scriptural Contexts
- Examine the Doctrinal Context
- Use Supplemental Studies
3.TAKE OUT: HEEDING THE TEXT
For each Bible study principle, numerous Logos features are explained and applied, enabling you to maximize your Bible software for personal study. By the end of the seminar you'll have BOTH a disciplined plan of Bible study and a thorough knowledge of your Bible software.
Inductive Bible Study seminars teach the software in the context of an actual study of a passage like Philippians 1.27-30. For example:
- Session 1: Read Phillippians 1.27-30 (here are the Logos features that help you read the passage)
- Session 2: Discern the Literary Context of Philippians 1.27-30 (here are the Logos features and electronic books that help you discern literary context)
- Session 3: Discover the Historical Context of Philippians 1.27-30 (here are the Logos features and electronic books that help you discover the historical context)
- And so on.
Both seminars equip you to use your Bible software in a practical manner, the information is just presented differently.
While Camp Logos is NOT a prerequisite for the Inductive Bible Study with Libronix Seminar, many participants have found it helpful to first attend Camp Logos and then the inductive seminar. However, if you are interested in attending this seminar, but are not as familiar with the basics of Logos 4, we suggest purchasing the Logos 4 Training Manuals. These tools can be used separately or together and they are equally as effective. While these materials are not as thorough as attending Camp Logos, they can help sharpen your basic Logos user skills.
